Skater Girl Goes to FLORIDA

After a long and very cold winter Chronicles headed down south to Sarasota, Florida to film "the younger years" portion of the movie. Planning for the florida shoot began in early February, but three days before shooting was to begin we still hadn't found young abby or young julie. Actually not one person had been found. But of course, in typical movie making fashion as things just have a tendancy to work themselves out. We had two auditions 10 people showed up at the first and then at the sarasota school of arts and sciences about 25, 8-12 year olds, showed up. Julie (in her role as casting director) had the kids play scherades as they pretended to be either an alegator, tiger, or witch in an effort to evaluate how dramatic they could be. On Friday, the 15 kids chosen showed up for a day of filming at Circle K, the home of the Schuh family, and the Sarasota Skate park. Even the local newspaper showed up to write about our day of rebellious skateboarding activities.

Dan Speaks on Back Stage Panel

Director Dan Mirman spoke on a panel discussion Saturday afternoon on behalf of the Independent Film Report and the indie movie making process. It seemed wrapping a movie 4 hours prior to speaking lent for some good material to draw from. BACKSTAGE'S ACTORFEST

Chronicles Day 16

The final countdown!!!! Cast and crew met Friday night at 8pm for a midnight shoot at Willy Bee's diner in Brooklyn. What better place for ChRoNiCLeS to wrap than a bright, cheery diner that resembles a Jetson's hang out. Julie, Malcom, Harry, Abby and our favorite homeless guy Todd, all reunited on set for their final onscreen performances. Julie accuses Abby for being in love with Malcom. Malcom accuses Julie of being a FELVIS (female Elvis, of course). Harry accuses Julie of being up-tight. And amid all the accusations, Todd was silenced by chocolate cake. The 8am sunrise called for a round of high-fives, ChRoNicLeS WRAPPED! At least for most of the cast and crew...

Chronicles Day 14

Abby and Harry heat up the chilly New York air! Just when you think Abby has rid herself of Harry to reclaim her independence, they share a "New York Moment" (cue Cold Play's CLOCKS). Coincidentally, Malcom walked up and witnessed Abby and Harry kissing. A disheartened Malcom later revealed his frustration and love for Abby in a letter. Chronicles Day 13

A bar at 7am?!?!?! Cast and crew met at an East Village bar, Detour, bright and early. Pooling our resources, ChRoNiCleS pulled a crew member to make an onscreen appearance. In the name of movie making magic, our very own wardrobe coordinator, Ailene seduced Malcom. Later in the day Harry's band, Bloody Omellete joined the set. Check out the pics below to see the band crank out "Cold Turkey" with conviction.
